Explain the impact of the Balfour Declaration in the Middle East.

In 1917, the Balfour Declaration was issued by the British government. This paved way to have Jewish settlement in Palestine. It resulted to the bitterness between the Jews and the Arabs. The conflict still exists up to the present day.
