Cuneiform is a Sumerian form of writing. It was believed to have been developed by the Sumerians in Mesopotamia a long time ago. It is considered as the most significant and important contribution of the Sumerians to the history of civilization. Cuneiform is derived from the latin word "cuneus" which means wedge due to its wedge style of writing. A stylus is used to press on the soft clay to produce a somewhat wedge impressions that become signs and later become concepts.
