    More power for me was probably what Robespierre said to himself to justify the 'Law of Suspects". To the public he said it was what had to be done to preserve and protect France. He had a free for all arresting anyone who was suspected of objecting to the Revolution and he became tyrannical with this power. It is estimated that they arrested a half a million people.
