    The Plessy v. Ferguson case was a ruling that said that it was okay to separate blacks and whites if the services given to both were equal. (For example, trains could force blacks and whites to ride in separate cars, as long as the separate cars had the same treatment. However, because many if not all railroad owners were racist against blacks, the separate facilities were not always "equal")

    Supporters of the Plessy v. Ferguson rulers would most likely have agreed that C. "separate but equal" was a valid legal doctrine.
