The Tudors had very active "leisure" sports. The men were involved in jousting, leaping, sword fighting, shin kicking, fox hunting, and dancing (especially to bagpipes. There was the theater, music, a game very similar to tennis and the occasional hanging which took on the air of today's fair. Many of those skills are still practiced today. Track and field activities include long jump and shot put. Fencing and tennis are past time for others. Dancing, the theater and carnivals are all activities we still enjoy today.
