How have war and economic crisis increased the power of the national government?

    Usually, when things like wars happen, the powers of the state are relegated to the power of the nation because in a state of war, there are no individual state armies or state policies, but rather federal ones as the federation participates in a war as a whole. Things like these increase the power of the national government and reduce the power of the state.
