    The Tribunal Of The Holy Office of the Inquisition, more commonly known as The Spanish Inquisition, began in 1478 and was not officially ended until 1834. The inquisition was meant to maintain conformity to catholic doctrine as declares law by the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
