Why did the Founding Fathers replace the Articles of Confederation with the Constitution?

    There were several reasons why the Founding Fathers replaced the Articles of Confederation with the Constitution, but the main one is that the Articles gave Congress no power to tax the states, which was very much needed for debt payments.
