This can be accepted as a truth. That is because Britain ruled large parts of Africa during it's Victorian imperialistic endeavors and any uprising against their rule was swiftly ended and usually cruelly. It was possible because they had advanced technology which made it easy for them. Eventually, they did lose their grip when they had to spend millions (nowadays it would be trillions) on suffocating uprisings and the country went almost bankrupt.
