Why was the american public frustrated with the outcome of the korean war?

The main reason w hy the american public was frustrated with the outcome of the Korean War is the fact that people did not understand the benefits of this war to the United States. There were a lot of soldiers dead or gravely wounded during this war but they've not achieved their main goal.
