Why was the uss maine sent to cuba in 1898? it was intended to provide military support for cuban rebels. it was sent to bring diplomats to cuba to end the cuban revolution. it was intended to protect american citizens who were in danger in the cuban revolution. it was bringing medical supplies and food to both cuban and spanish troops.
