Would an invasion of the japanese islands be a concern for american military planners

I don't really know if this will answer your question but I think it will because when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and when the war was ire we agreed that I'd Japan ever gets in a war again that we will be there to back them up and the same to us. Sorry if this doesnt answer your question
