Saladin agreed to confirm an ironclad peace agreement between Christians and Saracens [Muslims]. It guaranteed free passage and access to the Holy Sepulcher of the Lord, without the requirement of any tribute or fee. It also granted the freedom of bringing objects for sale through any land whatever and of exercising a free commerce.
