On the road you are traveling, the pavement markings change from broken white lines to solid white lines between the lanes of traffic. What does the line change mean?

    If this is Driver's Ed, the broken white lines mean that you can cross the line and change lanes. The solid white lines means you cannot cross the line and must stay in that lane. It also marks the shoulder of the road way
