Why did Britain refuse to withdraw troops from Ohio valley despite the agreement they made with the us in the treaty of Paris

    They wanted to keep their forts and outposts because of their close proximity to Canada and the valuable resources of the region. They knew we weren't going to retaliate because we had just concluded a war with them and we needed to rebuild as a nation.
