The region in Southeast Asia that was able to resist colonization by European powers is A. Thailand. Thailand (The Kingdom of Siam) is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been colonized by a European country. The Siamese Kings at the time were able to interact with Europeans diplomatically because the kings had already developed Thailand's political system close to the Europeans'. This made it hard for Europeans to assert themselves in the country.
