    The Great Depression caused by World War I made massive unemployment and economic turmoil in America. This unstable condition pushed workers to

    create labor unions that later on organized strikes. These Unions were believed to be influenced by communists from the Soviet Union. To keep the people away from joining Trade Unions the government started the Red Scare.
