    B. Industrial, urban, and anti-slavery

Before and during the Civil War, the North had more factories than the South, whereas their economy relied heavily on agriculture. Since the North had more factories and cities where factories lived, this ultimately gave Northerners an advantage because they were able to crank out supplies, uniforms, and weaponry much faster than the South and led to a better organization of troops than that of the South. Also, one of the main reasons the Civil War started was because of the fact that the South relied on slave labor to produce their exports while the North wanted to abolish slavery for the most part.
