Isolationism is the politics of not interfering with issues that are not on the American continent. This has been quite a common policy in the US, and even was practiced during the World Wars, but the US had to join eventually. Disarmament is the removal or destruction of arms, mostly related to the military of a country. An example would be Germany after WW1 when they were forbidden from having weaponry. High tariff protection is when you make high taxes on imported goods, which protects the domestic industry because people then buy local goods more.
