There were several important changes brought to the world populations as a result of the European colonization of the Americas. The Europeans and Asians lived in very close quarters with their domesticated animals. This resulted in epidemic diseases amongst the people of Europe and Asia. These diseases were not found in the Americas so the native people living in the Americas were affected when they came into contact with the Settlers. Thousands died from epidemics such as Small Pox. The other change is that the European and Asian settlers plundered the local resources when they inhabited the Americas.
