In a civilized society, we learn to live in harmony together (theoretically) and accept each other, and, at least in a democracy, everyone gets an equal chance. However, in a civilized society, the bars that keep evil out, lock good within, and human nature is supressed into rules of barecodes, lines, and highway stretching into the weeping sun, and mankind will wither, for civilization is the end. Mwahahahaha!

better health and more wealth, all money (wealth) is is options, without wealth a person has few options without health a person has nothing

the downside is that the stress level of living in a modern society can be excessive and free time can be scarce since people are busy trying to "improve" their lives

a civilized society is an advancing society, since we humans are in competition for space, resources and life the more advanced a society the stronger it is for the most part, however most people who have relied on society continuing to be civilized are not capable of existing when society falls apart, this is why it is important to learn how to be self reliant so you can defend yourself, feed yourself and so on without relying on others-the more "civilized" we become the more dependant on technology and other we become-when civilized society falls apart the guy with the weapons, knowledge and resources and the will to use them has the power and this is why I keep a large emergency supply of food, water, cash/gold, weapons, fuels, generator ... I can take care my family for 1 year with the rations I keep on hand and I have the ability to defend our supply and lives as well
