Before 1812, Americans desired in expanding their territories which involves invasion of the native homelands of the American Indians. Some native leaders respond positively to this because they want to protect their lands. However, some of the natives sided with the British because they tried to convince and persuade the natives that they could win against the expansion and that the British can protect their lands more than the Americans.
