    B, Southerners who wanted to add new slave states. Mexico had Texas under its own control. Americans wanted this Texas because it provided agriculture and new slaves which are Mexicans. After the Mexican-American war, Texas was its own country for 10 years and then it became a part of the United States. The citizens of America got new slaves after that.
