Germany's ultimate goal in the Battle of the Bulge was to push the Allied troops back to the seaport of Antwerp and across the English Channel. The main goal was for Germany to give a surprise attack to the allied forces in the Ardennes region of Wallonia (French-speaking province) in Belgium, France and Luxembourg and then to push into the port city of Antwerp (a Dutch-speaking city in Belgium). This was near the end of World War II and there were many casualties from the American allies, as well as from Germany.
