Which is an example of how slavery in the Americas differed from other forms of slavery?

In America slavery was much worse than slavery in other places. They were beaten, often for no reason at all. Other slaves were treated badly but usually not as bad as slaves in America.

Slavery in America was different because of yes the horrible conditions, but another big part of it was how long it took to make slavery illegal, and how much backlash followed. Another big part of it was the fact that many many slaves fought in the civil war and expected to come back to freedom, but instead came back to similar conditions. Same with the vietnam war, no slaves fought in it but african americans willingly enlisted to go free the oppressed people of south vietnam, hoping to come home to benefits of serving, but came back to an oppressive government
