Why was the American revolution revolutionary?

    The American Revolution was revolutionary due to the independent of the 13 colonies. The British crown no longer ruled the colonies.

    The 13 colonies had transformed into their own nation - the United States of America.

    One major note, however, is that, unlike in the French Revolution, the social order remained the same.
