The difference between the Connecticut Journal and the Rivington's Gazette is that the Loyalists wrote in the Rivington's Gazette, while the Patriots wrote for the Connecticut Journal. The Loyalists and the Patriots were in opposition of one another, because the Loyalists supported the British monarchy and the Patriots wanted independence.
