Gaels originated in the country of Ireland and later spread to countries like Scotland and the the Isle of Man. It is actually an ethno-liguistic group that spoke the language of Gaelic. Many people around the world are now not able to speak the Gaelic language but still they consider themselves Gaels based on their ancestry. At the beginning of the Christian era, the Gaelic people believed that they were the original descendents of the Milesians. There are several theories surrounding the origin of the Gaels, but it has recently been proved that the Gaels are actually of Spanish origin.
