    Unlike anywhere else, the church could read and write latin

    everyone believed that god was so special then therefore obeying the church

    most chruches were built out of expensive stone

    the church owned about 25% of the land

    people were scared of going to hell

    the church controlled marriages wills rights etc even the king had to obey the church.
