    The 1994 Cairo conference was mainly based on population and development of people. The three main goals on which there were general consensus were: ·

    Provide education for all and sundry. It was decided that primary education should be available for all within 2015.

    Reduce the number of infant and child mortality to a minimum. Within the year 2000 the mortality rate should be reduced to 50 to 70 deaths per thousand.

    Reduce the rate of maternal mortality to as minimum as possible.
