how did the slave compromises attempt to settle the different opinions regarding slavery?

    The delegates from the North where there wasn't much slavery, felt that slaves should not be counted towards representation. The delegates from the Southern states wanted slaves to be counted in terms of representation. The delegates made a compromise to combine both opinions.
