    When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on the Japanese, which brought us into World War II because then Germany and Italy, who were allies with Japan, declared war on the United States. FDR also issued executive order 9066 which placed all Japanese Americans in internment camps under suspicion of subversive activities.
