The aryan tribes who migrated into northern India over 3,500 years ago came from Bactria-Margiana culture (which would be what is now modern day northern Afghanistan). These migrations promoted the Indo-Aryan language now spoken in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Fiji and the Seychelles. The aryan tribes also brought about the invention of the chariot into the Indian Subcontinent. There was also a wide diffusion of culture across many countries.
