Embargo act (problem) ?

    The embargo act was a law passed in 1807 that prohibited American ships from trading in foreign ports. Of course this is a huge problem because ports were a main source of trade (and still are). This is a huge problem also because there was no other way to trade legally with other countries, unless one could go on foot
