The 1920's offered several forms of escape to the common people - the automobile, the radio, the movies. How did these create a national culture (common or shared experience in terms of what we read, hear, and see) in America?

    The main way in which things like automobiles, the radio, the movies, etc. created a common or shared experience in terms of what we read, hear, and see in America, is that almost all of these activities were communal, wide-spread, and involved the same content. For instance, the same movie that was made in Hollywood would have been seen my hundreds of thousands of people around the country.
