Answer: a. priestesses who conducted women's spring rituals. The girls who were chosen at the age of 10 or 8 to be priestesses of the Temple of the Sun were also called "Virgins of the Sun", they had to fulfill the vow of chastity, to watch the sacred fire, and to learn to spun fabrics. They were monitored or cared for by midwives called "Mama Cuna"; who did not allow them to leave until after seven years or more, and many of these young women were wives of the nobles, also they were the victims of sacrifices; or the concubines of the rulers of the Inca empire.
