Settlers and American Indians often had conflicts after the passage of the Homestead Act. How were these conflicts resolved?

    Well mainly these resolved in the Indians selling their land. The whole concept of owning land was not something they were familiar with as they all believed that no one could own the land but merely live off of it. They often sold their land because they went bankrupt and couldn't keep the whites off their land.
