    d. The Johnson-Reed Immigration Act

The Johnson-Reed Immigration Act is also referred to as the Immigration Act of 1924 and it placed quotas on immigrants based on the country they were originating from.

The 1924 immigration act set quotas particularly limiting immigrants from southeastern Europe. The goal was to prevent more Catholic and less desirable Europeans from entering the US. Larger quotas were given to more desirable countries like Great Britain.
