Montesquieu

Montesquieu was a French lawyer, man of letters and political philosopher. He lived during the Age of Enlightenment and one of the theories he’s famous for is the separation of powers, an idea who finds its place into many constitutions today. Montesquieu called for the three administrative powers in France, known as the executive, the legislative and the judicial, to be separate and dependent upon each other so that no power would have a bigger influence than that of the other two. At the time, this idea was considered to be a radical one.
