How were Native American tribes impacted by contact with early European explorers?

    First and foremost, the arrival of Europeans into North America killed thousands of Native Americans. The Europeans had been immune to diseases that the Indians were not immune to, such as smallpox, and were then killed because of this. Also, the land hunger Europeans kicked out many tribes to make room for their colonies and also contributed to the deforestation of the woods that the Indians relied on to protect themselves.
