Sir Lancelot du Lac fits is a part of the Arthurian legend, well known and recognized as one of the Knights of the Round Table. He was considered to be King Arthur’s greatest champion, the greatest swordsman and jouster of the age. He is introduced in Le Chavalier de la Charette, written in the 12th century, and would later become the main focus of the Vulgate Cycle, where his exploits and romance with Guinevere are exploited in a section of five volumes called Prose Lancelot.
