Modernism is philosophical and cultural movement which arose from transformations in Western society on the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th century. Modernists rejected the certainty of Enlightenment and also didn't believe in God. They completely denied the biblical understanding of God. Also, they thought that man kind didn't fall from any kind of holy estate, but that it rose from primitive shape, vie evolutionary process. Modernists claimed that human life cannot be conducted by simple rules from the "holy book" such as Bible. One must find answers on his own, they emphasized, and must decide on ethical issues letting the subjective love be the guidance in different situations.
