    A sick a$$ broadway show lemme tell ya; ) it led to political parties. hamilton was a federalist and wanted a strong, large government) and an alliance with britain; jefferson was a democratic-republican (not to be mistaken with modern-day democrats and republicans) and favored a smaller, weaker central government and more power to the individual states, as well as an alliance to france. during this time period, britain and france were not friends, so it was one or the other.
