Indus valley civilizations were mainly civilizations which heavily rellied on agriculture and using up the gift of the rivers on which they were built. While other civilizations also had agriculture and rivers, the Indus valley cities also were built with the future in mind. For that reason they preplanned where everything was being built and sorrounded these neatly planned cities with high walls as well.
