The two proposed plan are is to have three branches of the government and a president. They are the Executive, (President and approximately 5,000,000 workers) Legislative (Senate and House of Representatives) and Judicial (Supreme Court and lower Courts). The President of the United States manages the Executive Branch of our government.

    B. Having three branches of government - - following Enlightenment ideas government should have checks and balances with multiple branches.

The proposed plans for the Constitutional Convention, New Jersey Plan and Virginia Plan, agreed that the new government needed to have checks and balances with branches of government. They agreed there needed to be a legislative branch to make laws, an executive branch to preside over everyday affairs, and a judicial branch to run the courts. These three branches would ensure no singular power could take over and rule as a tyrant.
