Sumerians, emerging from Southern Mesopotamia, is one of the pioneering civilizations in the world. They had developed a unique writing system known as the ‘cuneiform’ that even though the existed way before 8000 B. C. years ago, 3000 years after, it still influenced the other neighboring areas. The writing system consists of sharp strokes and shapes that symbolizes their livelihood at that time such as trading goods and livestock. These pictographs originally were clays representing items for purchase, however as time pass by, Sumerians had learned to wirte it down.
