Correggio’s most famous piece is Assumption of the Virgin.

The Assumption of the virgin works was a decoration painting in plaster with water-soluble pigments in the dome of the cathedral of Parma, Italy by the Italian Late Renaissance artist Antonio da Correggio. This marked the culmination of Corregio's career as a mural painter. The whole architectural surface is taken to be a single pictorial unit of vast proportions that equate to the dome of the church with vault heaven. The figures in the clouds are realistic and seem to protrude to the spectators' space in an astounding and audacious use of time of foreshortening.
