French fur traders established fair trade with American Indians in North America. What is one item the traders sold to the American Indians in exchange for furs?

    French fur traders traded two things with American Indians in those times. One were guns and the other horses. When the American Indians provided them with fur, they were given either horses or guns in exchange, both of which the Indians desperately needed in their fight with the US settlers.

    One item can be the weapons. Many Europeans gave the natives a bunch of weapons because they had plenty. They even gave them faulty weapons or broken ones because the natives didn't know any better.
