Why was there believed to be a significant generation gap between children and their parents during the 1950s

    That was right after women's rights started coming about and it was following a series of historical events that prevented child birth. Women started focusing on gaining a career and being more like man rather than being a house wife and bearing children. Women still had children but they did this after they established a stable career
