Which of the following best describes what happened to the Cherokee after relocation? Many died from disease, starvation, and intertribal violence. Their land holdings slowly eroded until the Cherokee were gone. The land for relocation was an empty promise and never existed. The Trail of Tears was hard, but once settled the Cherokee thrived.
